Hello,
I'm Gabby!

I am a Visual Artist and UX Researcher.

With over four years of visual art and design experience, I have merged my plethora of skills to continue pursuing UX research & design. Passionate about human-centered design, I am interested in the relationship between humans and technology, and how this continues to shape our future.

As a creative, I have always been drawn to design, and more recently discovered the power of empathy. I strive to empathize and discover design opportunities by talking, observing and immersing myself with users. By understanding users and other stakeholders, I carefully select UX research and design methods to pursue.

Build a more robust technology enabling student and faculty efficiency and involvement post-pandemic at universities?

The Ah-Where system embedded throughout universities is a data-tracking system that encompasses several mediums of use, from in the moment to the future. It embraces efficiency and convenience. The Ah-Where system is composed of already existing technologies like card-swiping, but also introduces sensors to fill any data collection gaps. This granular data will not only inform future critical decisions for being carbon neutral but will also provide live updates of capacity, cleanliness and reserving space to communication platforms already used by universities.

This concept was developed based on primary and secondary research conducted within an interdisciplinary team-based class at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Various design research methods were implemented, including market research, user persona development, strategic surveying and human-human interviewing.

Build a fun educational app used as an educational supplement in curriculum.

BioBug is an app that is designed to go along with STEM curriculum for ages 10 to 13. This is meant to add an interactive "gamified" aspect of learning.

Visual checkpoints and accomplishments make these learning goals approachable by children to get engaged.

Build a more robust technology sparking student engagement and involvement while adhering to public health safety precautions?

SponMo stands for spontaneous moments enabling the student to find friends based on similar majors, extracurricular activities, languages and even favorite foods.

The incentive is that the user is only matched to someone who is on at the moment, matching shared interests. Users are both prompted to suggest topics of conversation based on their interests.
